St. Paddy's Festivities

It was my first St. Patrick's Day in Ireland and I went to the parade.  I thought that would be pretty sweet given we don't celebrate the holiday with a parade in America.  I didn't partake of the green beer and drink-until-you-puke festiviites since I was on babysitting duty, but the day was pretty cool.  And, by pretty cool I mean, like, the day was friggin' freezin'.  And, it was fun.

Gettin' all ready for the parade!

Me with my shamrocks pinned to my coat.
Warmin' up at the M&S Cafe after the parade.

  1. Love the pictures! Especially the mermaids. And the girl I babysit had the same headband as your nieces, haha!

  2. Great time! Heh, the Indian costumes were so loverly typical!

Do ladies in Derry wear almost nothing the way the ladies here in the northeast do? Srsly! They don't wear coats at night when they go out and the temp could be near freezing, or even lower! Gah!

  4. @true story-those headbands were popular...all the kids had something like it
@Mollie--Yes, they wear close to nothing here and it is soooo cold. I haven't warmed up yet and am walking around with two coats on. Some of the gals here had on shorts and tank tops on St. Patrick's Day and it was close to snowing!
@Lauren--hmm...I'm not too sure. There may be one in NYC. We never had anything like that where I'm from lol. Just green beer haha.

  9. Wow that looks like a great parade! Some of the costumes and floats remind me of the Rose Parade in my hometown (Pasadena, CA) :)
